The good folks at Mint.com used the most recent data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, to create this map, which shows how US cities have been affected by the economic downturn. The cost of living is down in most parts of the country.

As we head into an economic correction there will be some bargains to be had. If you are considering a move now might be the time to find a geographic area with a lower cost of living. A simple move might increase your personal bottom line.

We work more than 1/3 of our waking hours to earn a living and to hopefully save some money for retirement and the finer things in life. How much of that time is spent figuring out how much money we will need to live once we stop working? Do we set goals for the golden years? Did we match the goals and dreams to our savings plan? Do we really understand how to get the most out of every dollar we earn?

Don’t worry. Most people fail to plan and don’t understand how to use money to it’s fullest potential. This site will help people understand what it means to manage money, plan for retirement (or any other major financial goal). It all comes down to understanding money. How you:

earn it

keep it

protect it and

spend it

Stay tuned – this is going to be a wild ride.

Welcome to the Financial IQ Test.
